Catholic Bishops of South Sudan are proud because Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo is the first Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan in the history of the Church.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei, who spoke on behalf of Catholic Bishops of South Sudan, says Archbishop Balvo has recorded history in the country which he describes as a milestone.
He admits that the outgoing Nuncio tried his best in the five-year period to visit all diocese of South Sudan except Yei because of insecurity and sickness.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba says the farewell is meant for all seven dioceses of South Sudan to say thank you to the Nuncio.
He calls on the outgoing Pope Ambassador to pray for the country to attain lasting peace.
Representative of Pope in South Sudan Monsignor Mark Kadima thanks all people for making the work of the outgoing Nuncio easy in serving the faithful in his mission.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo says while in his new mission in Zech Republic, he will always remember South Sudan.
He pledges to pray for Christians and all people of the young country for peace to take root.
The Catholic leaders spoke on Wednesday evening in Juba during the farewell party organized in the honour of outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo.
The event drew together Catholic Church leaders and priests of the seven dioceses, missionaries, faithful and government representatives.
