According to a new report says verified by the United Nations shows that more than over nine children were victims of serious violations in the close to four years.
UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children Virginia Gamba says the level of violence endured by children in South Sudan is dismaying.
She adds that many children were also used to commit atrocities against civilians and other children, thus perpetuating the cycle of violence.
The Special Representative urges the government and armed groups to provide unhindered access for UN and partners to give humanitarian aid to children in need in all parts of the country.
The report states that almost two thousand were abducted and nearly one thousand children were killed or injured, by both government and opposition armed groups.
More than six hundred and fifty children were verified as sexually abused during the reporting period, with seventy-five percent of the cases involving gang rapes, it adds.
The report point out that Upper Nile and Equatoria regions witnessed massive grave violations against children as the conflict progressively expanded.
