Western Lakes State government has declared three days of mourning a prominent South Sudanese figure Dr Priscilla Nyanyang Joseph Kuch.
Dr Nanyang died in the Sudanese Capital Khartoum on October 8, 2018 while undergoing treatment.
The State Minister of Information Majak Isaac Roor Magok announced on Saturday that Western Lakes will mourn from Monday to Wednesday.
These three days are given to the people of Lakes States to mourn an icon and a great leader the late Dr. Nyanyang, he clarifies.
‘All government institutions, schools and other sectors are urged to remain closed in three days times to pay respect and be in solidarity with the family of the deceased’, the minister stated.
‘South Sudan flag will fly half mask way within the three days in the state as we continue to honor her services and pray for her soul to rest in internal peace’ he adds.
Many people, who paid their last respect during the burial, defined the late as a great woman of her generation, not only to community of Akot or Yek, but the whole Lakes region.
Late Dr. Pricilla died as an honorable person and we must pray to God to bless and welcome her soul in heaven, Magok Aliap Chawul.

Nyanyang as a true nationalist, who dedicated her entire life to serve people of South Sudan, wholeheartedly.
Her sudden departure has left a vacuum in the country, they add.
Dr Priscilla Nyanyang Joseph Kuch earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1978 from University of Khartoum.
She received her Masters of Community Medicine in 1987 also from the University of Khartoum.
She was a South Sudanese politician who served as a national Deputy Minister for Gender, Child and Social Welfare.
She was a member of the National Dialogue Steering Committee until her demise.
