The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Torit is urging South Sudanese leaders to build hope for the recently signed peace agreement in citizens.

Fr Arkangelo Lokoro says the peace agreement has been signed in several countries but citizens need to feel it in their country, Radio Emmanuel reports.

If you want to be like St Teresa then you have to tell the truth to the people. And also we pray for our leaders, may be this is a chance. This peace that is being chased like a goat tomorrow you hear that it is in Tanzania, the following day that it is in Uganda, after that in Kenya, it is in Ethiopia, back to Sudan and now we hear that it is back to Ethiopia. When will it reach South Sudan’, the Vicar asks.

Fr Lokoro tells the faithful to contribute in making the signed peace alive in the country through peaceful coexistence that will give hope for peace in South Sudan.

He advises the congregation to continue celebrating while political leaders chase for peace.

The Vicar General was preaching in St Theresa Parish during the celebration of the patron on Monday in Torit catholic Diocese.
