Revitalized deal can set base for long term peace, says civil society

The revitalized peace agreement can set a foundation for change and long term peace building in South Sudan if implemented in letter and spirit, Executive Director of Organization for Responsive Governance.
 
Rajab Mohandis says the deal has enough provisions to end the conflict and start the process of long term peace building in South Sudan, says activist.
 
The involvement of the many stakeholders to the peace agreement discussion process give an opportunity for peaceful process of the conflict, he explains.
 
Mohandis says the civil society see that the signed agreement tied the upcoming transitional government a political legality and its success.
 
He says the organizations find out that if the agreement fails, it will be difficult to partners in Africa and the world to support revival of the deal for the second time.
 
Representative of Norwegian People’s Adis or NPA calls on the civil society organizations to continue keeping their eye on the implementation of the signed agreement.
 
Inspector General of Police James Tui encourages tall parties and partners to encourage civil society organization to put much effort in watching the implementation of the deal.
 
He attributes the success of the accord to many efforts the organizations put in Addis Ababa and Khartoum.
 
The officials spoke on when Organization for Responsive Governance and South Sudan Civil Society Forum were launching an evaluating report on the recently signed revitalized agreement on Tuesday in Juba.
 
The report provides an analysis of the revitalized agreement and its suggestion on the implementation.
