South Sudan Civil Society Forum leader calls on political leaders to stop all violations of the peace agreement they signed on September 12 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Rajab Mohandis points out that it is the worst time for their leadership credibility to breach the accord and engage in any fighting.

He urges the leaders to show to people what they have done and results of implementation of the agreement.

They should demonstrate to people that the agreement is not just ‘a capital city agreement for elites’, Mohandis tells the signatories in his statement.

The activist calls on the leaders to reach out to ordinary citizens across the country who need the agreement most.

Other stakeholders can also play their roles, but real back rests with the parties and most importantly with President Salva Kiir to unite the country and restore peace, , Mohandis appeals.

The activist says the president needs do more to build confidence and momentum for implementation of the agreement.

He says it is indeed now time for President Kiir to translate the deal and his statement of September 15, 2018 into action and results.
