Torit State Governor declares the reopening of Torit-Liria-Juba road which was closed one month ago due to uncontrolled killings and child abduction.

Tobiolo Alberio Oromo says the road leading to Juba through Torit Liria is now safe for road users.

He calls on those responsible for child abduction along the highway to stop.

‘And then our brothers the IOs who are also moving along Imurok areas here are cooperating with them they are not harassing them so as such they prefer Magwi we say okay you continue. But the Liria road has been opened for any vehicle to go because we have known who is this person abducting our children. For now, there is no abduction. We shall run using this way we may not follow the foot step we use this way immediately to Morwa they are the one taking our children’ he laments

Governor Alberio urges those responsible for the abduction of the children to ensure they return them back to their respective parents.

He stresses that drivers use Torit – Magwi to Juba road due to its safety.

‘We are calling on the Government of Boma Mobilize all those children you bring back to us including those children who are taken since 2008 we need those children to be brought back to the relatives so this one has been address and we have directed the drivers to resume their movement through Liria to Juba they also complain that no we are comfortable with Magwi road because the way to Magwi they are not getting though they sleep on the way they don’t get any thread’

The temporary closure of Torit – Liria to Juba road was aimed to investigate cases of child abduction.
