South Sudan to host East Africa Assembly plenary next month

The speaker of the Transitional Legislative Assembly said they will host the East African Legislative Assembly plenary next month.
 
Mr Anthony Lino Makana disclosed the news last week during a meeting of speakers of East African Community parliaments.
 
Speaker of Uganda Parliament Rebecca Kadaga urged EAC member states to promote peace in the region. 
 
She said when there is instability; people flee to neighbouring countries and put pressure on the host communities’ social infrastructure such as health, education and roads
 
Kadaga urges the government of South Sudan to protect their traders operating in the country.
 
President of Rwandan Senate, Bernard Makuza, emphasized on the importance of trade between the EAC member states.
 
Speaker of Burundi National Assembly, Pascal Nyabenda, urged the East African Assembly to help Burundi fight off sanctions European Union or EU imposed on it.
