Torit State celebrates International Peace Day under the theme: ‘Peace start with me in Torit’ at the Freedom Square.
 
Speaking during the occasion, Torit Chief Whip Alma Maha Gordon says implementation of peace can be challenging from the start, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
She says absence of reconciliation will hold the peace backwards.
 
The Chief Whip urges South Sudanese to forget the past and begin new phase of life.
 
While Caroline Waudo, head of UNMISS in Torit, says it is only through peace that the population will be free from hunger and poverty.
 
She encourages South Sudanese to speak up for an inclusive society.
 
The speakers were talking during International Peace Day celebration on Friday in Torit.
