Mother of Mercy Hospital in Gidel, Nuba Mountains concluded a four-day workshop for staff on care of HIV/AIDS patients.
Speaking to Voice of Peace Radio on Friday, Sister Angelina Nyakuru, Matron, says they came up with the workshop as HIV/AIDS rate increase day by day in Gidel, Umduren and Kumu areas.
She adds that more people were getting infecting everyday and that they came up with initiative to inform their staff who deal directly with HIV patients.
Sister Nyakuru advises the professionals and community members to protect themselves as HIV does not discrimination.
The Matron predicts that in few years to come many people will die of HIV/AIDS if they do not protect themselves from now.
On Monday the head of Voluntary Counseling and Testing program, Kukani Ibrahim revealed that more than 230 patients were tested HIV positive in Mother of Mercy Hospital in recent weeks.
The workshop that started on Monday with 45 participants ended on Friday evening.
