The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Torit is calling on Christians to respect and obey the laws of God.

Father Arkangelo Lokoro Joseph while talking to the faithful, says to reach the Kingdom of God, Christians should follow all what God expects them to do, Radio Emmanuel reports.

He urges Christians to imitate Moses in the Bible who obeyed and followed the words of God who accepted to take the people of Israel from slavery to the promise land.

‘Moses was talking to the people of Israel and he said you shall not act to the word which I commanded you don’t add something to the word which I commanded you, what did he say to them, he say this keep the commandment of God so that you may live and take possession of the land which the Lord the God of your father has given you from slavery to the promise land, leave that place go to the land which you were given by your parents by your elders’, stresses the Vicar.

Fr Lokoro advises Christians to abstain from doing wrong things such as rape, murder and adultery among others that derive mankind from God.

He appeals to Christians to follow the rules of God so as to receive good reward from God and have brighter future.

‘From within from my heart from your heart up to the heart of this come evil thoughts, evil thoughts, bad words, fornication or raping the people on the road, rape, stealing the things of others, murder, killing, adultery taking the wives of other people, coveting, wickedness, deceived, slander, envy, foolishness, all these evil comes from within and they defile a person’, Fr Lokoro notes.

He says a good family is a family that has faith and lives according to the word of God.

The Vicar General was preaching to the congregation at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Torit on Sunday.
