Health Minister visits Tonj Civil Hospital

Tonj Health Minister on Friday visited Tonj Civil Hospital to find out problems facing the institution in the state.
 
Abak Yel Madut says the visit is purposely to know the situation of the health care center and problem facing the facility, Don Bosco Radio reports.
 
She points out that the mattresses and bed sheets in all wards are not in good condition and that the ministry will try to bring more.
 
The minister states that maternity ward needs extension because it is small.
 
She notes that the national Ministry of Health is trying harder to see that all health facilities in the country are well constructed.
 
The minister stresses that lack of x-ray is the biggest problem she has seen.
 
Director of Tonj Civil Hospital Dr Mathiang Agany appreciates the minister for the visit because they were lacking many things in the hospital.
 
He appeals to the minister to provide more drugs in the hospital.
 
Dr Mathiang says the hospital is having a lot of challenges due to the economic crisis, but hopes with the recently signed peace agreement things will change.
