Advisor to the Governor on girl child education and environment has blast teachers for dressing indecently before their students.
Becky Ayya claims education quality in the state has deteriorated more because teachers are not smart, hence causing children to disrespect them.
She attributes this to unreliable payment given to teachers.
‘Today we don’t see the quality of teaching because our teachers, they don’t dress well. Our children are not respecting teachers, teachers moving like goats. Salary is not there and what can I do? Can I put my style to go to teach? Kalas yaki kede ana mas amolo nadafa. Anainu teachers tanin ginedifu fi UNMISS inak, asa uwo gidouro kida. Yumata kan uwo ma indu gurus. It is too bad really, we government we have to encourage teachers’, she complains.
Becky Ayya however calls on teachers to keep calm.
She expects increase in the salaries of teachers under the new government.
‘I am asking teachers we try our best, we know the problem. Perhaps with this new government maybe there will be change. You may get big money. You will buy another tie behind, another one be infront of you, two ties. When you are going you will be looking from their teacher‚Ķ teacher‚Ķ teacher’, the Advisor pleads.
The State Advisor made these remarks during the launching of girls education awareness campaign at Grace Community School on Saturday.
