Imitate the historical leaders who beat the drums against oppressive regime in 1955 to bring the current Republic of South Sudan, Minister of Information in Torit State urges all citizens.
Margret Idwa Okuye says South Sudan exists today as the outcome of the freedom fighters who started on August 18, 1955, Radio Emmanuel reports.
The state spokesperson mentions the heroes were committed for the freedom of all, but not personal interest.
The August18 is remembered every year to honor South Sudanese who were buried in mass grave in Himodonge Memorial Shrine some few kilometers south of Torit town.
August 18 was also the day when the first bullet was shot in Torit commencing the uprising against Arabs regime in 1955.
