Malnutrition cases are rising every day in communities, according to Nutrition Assistant in Tonj Civil Hospital.

Peter Garang Keer says they receive between twenty and twenty-five malnourished children and pregnant mothers every day in the center, Don Bosco Radio reports.

The Nutrition Assistant encourages the guardians or parents to take care of their children by giving them food and visit the health facilities.

He mentions that it is difficult to the community to understand the root causes of malnutrition, but needs awareness to the entire public.

One of the pregnant mothers, Asunta Alek Akol, appreciates the national government and CCM organization for helping malnourished children, pregnant mothers and with food.

She says the food items given to her help a lot after following the advice of the doctor.

Martha Athiang Mayen Akot says she is not happy about distribution of flour and plump net because the concerned authorities are not giving equally.

She mentions that the officials tell some people that they are not entitle to get food though they are malnourished.

Martha requests the concerned authorities not to discriminate others.

The speakers made the remarks on Thursday in Tonj Civil Hospital during the distribution of food items to malnourished children and women.
