Torit State Director-General of Commerce Investment Industry cautions business persons against unnecessary increase of market prices in the araea.

Stephen Ihude Oduho calls on business owners to cooperate with the state government to reach standard price because citizens are suffering across the country.

‘They have to reduce the prices because the people have suffered a lot. They {Traders} are over charging the goods and the government didn’t take any measures because they are getting dollars on their own. Now that the Dollar has fallen down, we expect them to cooperate with the government and reduce the prices. The mayor is telling them to reduce the prices in the market. We expect them to reduce the prices on their own where they know they can also gain some profit’, he adds.

He regrets that the conflict in South Sudan is the major cause of high prices in the market.

Director Ihude calls on traders to have hope for peace that will create conducive environment for their business.

He notes that peace is a crucial element to every business community.

‘I will have to say to them {business people} that they should be happy that they have passed the most troublesome situation in this crisis. Now we are seeing some light where things are going to be stable. Therefore they need not to panic they need to wait. The market will settle because peace is a key component for business to operate well. Conducive environment is very, very important’. The Director stresses.

Mr. Ihude says the state government is working hard to ensure that prices in the market are affordable to every citizen as soon as the peace talks yields a fruitful results.
