Agriculture Project Coordinator from Solidarity Riimenze urges farmers to carry out post harvest before taking the yields for consumption.

Elias Kubayo explains that the importance of post-harvest can lead to long term storages of crops, Anisa Radio reports.

He says post harvest handlings are ways of looking after the crops from the time of harvesting up to storage and consumption.

The coordinator encourages farmers to always take good care of their crops when harvested by drying up for longer time and keeping the harvested crops clean to last longer.

He also advises farmers to set up stands for drying up their crops such as cereals and cover them to avoid rain or water from entering the dried crops.

The speaker made the remarks on Tuesday during the daily bread program on Anisa Radio.
