The upcoming first Synod of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio will reinforce and make the Church a participatory servant, says Pastoral Coordinator.

Fr Diko Raphael, Animator of the event, says the Diocese is organizing the first Synod for all Christians to participate actively, Anisa Radio reports

Through the Synod Christians will be able to reflect on concrete means by which the faithful to exercise their rights and fulfil some of their obligations in the Diocese, he stresses.

Fr Raphael reveals that the benefits of the Synod will include, understanding of the Church, faith and the role of each and every family member of the Church including, priests, religious, laity and the Bishop of the Diocese.

The Diocesan Synod will enable the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio to move together with solid whole Apostolic Catholic Church in the world, he explains.

There are more steps to be done to conduct a successful synod, currently the Diocese of Tombura-Yambio is at the level of grassroots consultation before moving to other steps in August this year, the priest emphasizes.

The Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has Fr Aquilino as a consultant from Arua Catholic Diocese in Uganda who is helping the process because Arua Diocese is now in their sixth Synods.

The Diocesan Coordinator was talking to Anisa Radio in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio during a talk show designed for the Synod.
