‘This is world highest rate’, says Wendy Wheaton, Acting Director of Education for United States Agency for International Development or USAID in South Sudan.
She asks where the future of this country is going to be.
Minister of General Education and Instruction Deng Deng Hoc Yai says it is painful to hear that 2.2 million children are out of school and the number is likely to increase to 2.4 million.
The Minister attributes the high rate of school children out of school to lack of infrastructure, qualified teachers and school curriculum.
Head of United Nation Education Scientific Cultural Organization UNESCO in South Sudan Sardar Umar Alam says the report when through the experts to come up with such a number.
The officials spoke on Tuesday in Juba.
