St Peter and Paul Naandi Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has allocated some piece of land to internally displaced persons in Naandi for their safety.

Fr Justine Gizaza says the IDPs’ number is increasing daily compared to last weeks.

He mentions that they have registered 431 mainly women and children and enrolled some kids in schools.

Last Sunday the church made local contribution to raise funds to help the people with some food items that can push them until they get support from other aid agencies.

Fr Gizaza appeals to the Catholic Medical Mission Board and World Vision to rescue the situation in Naandi by providing health services to the IDPs.

He calls on the government of Tombura to protect the displaced people from any aggression in the state.

Many of the IDPs fled violence in some parts of Yangiri last month.
