Uganda chief officer urges South Sudan leaders to find solution to civil war

Bidi Bidi refugees’ camp leader in Uganda urges President Salva Kiir and Riek Machar to find solution to end the ongoing conflict in South Sudan.
 
Baramwesiga Robert tells CRN that it is time that the leaders of South Sudan consider the suffering their people are undergoing and sign peace to end the conflict.
 
The mandate of the leadership is to ensure that the people he leads are happy by creating a peaceful and conducive environment for them, he adds.
 
Robert applauds President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar’s steps to sign the long a waiting peace agreement.
 
The leader ensures the commitment of the government of Uganda in continuing to support South Sudanese refugees.
 
He says Uganda will continue providing refugees with settlement and security.
 
On Wednesday, South Sudan’s parties to the conflict agreed to have a permanent ceasefire to take effect after 72 hours.
 
The deal was signed after face-to-face talks between President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar in Khartoum, Sudan.
