The meeting between President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar in Khartoum, Sudan may not be the final process to peace, but is a bridging gap between them, says a citizen in Juba town.

The citizen who prefers anonymity says the countries; including Ethiopia and Kenya have their own interests in South Sudan.

He however believes that Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir knows the leaders better than other countries.

‘As a citizen, we want peace. But the infringement, the hatred of these two leaders may not make it easy for them to bring what the South Sudanese expected. So I expect the process to continue. But the process in Khartoum, may not be the final one, and may be just the begging of bridging the gap between the two leaders to continue so that they can bring peace to South Sudan. This is my feeling as citizen of this country’. He adds.

Another citizen who also does not want to be named for security reason calls for peace to end the suffering of South Sudanese especially IDPs and refugees in the neighbouring countries.

She suggests that the two leaders should be apprehended if they fail to reach an agreement.

‘If they fail to reach agreement, I don’t know if this is a good idea, I just feel like they should be apprehended until when they come to a consensus. That’s what I think. We are in need of peace as women of South Sudan. When you look at our other women who are suffering in the neighbouring countries in camps with children, with no basic necessities, we feel bad. We need the women and everybody to settled in their country. We don’t want any other kind of trouble to come upon our people again so that we enjoy life as South Sudanese. We are tired of the war and tired of blood shedding’. She stresses.

The other anonymous citizen says apprehending the leaders may not be a solution to bring peace to South Sudan.

He urges President Kiir and Machar to fix the country back to normalcy.
