Tonj State Legislative Assembly says it has considered the women’s demand for the position of Deputy Speaker.
Speaker Mario Malook Lual says the assembly has received a complaint letter from women that the position of a deputy speaker should be given to them.
He adds that the letter has been taken to the Governor of Tonj State for approval.
Malook admits that two positions in the state government were supposed to be given to women.
He urges the women to be patient and wait for the approval.
Chairperson of Women Caucus in Tonj State, Mary Nyibol threatens to move ahead with their advocacy if the government fails to respond.
