The Catholic Bishop of Tambura-Yambio is urging the armed men to stop killing people and instead bring peace in South Sudan.
Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says there is unusual situation of people being killed, tortured and displaced in their own places to other areas.
He says the church is building peace through dialogue with the local people as the peace process continues in Addis Ababa.
The Bishop stresses that the war is not benefiting any community in South Sudan.
He calls on the parties to respect civilians but not to turn against them.
Bishop Hiiboro condemns the attack on funeral place in Yambio which is a place of respect and pity.
The Bishop made the statement on Thursday before leaving to Uganda.
