Five hundred banknote not solution to South Sudan crisis, says activist

An activist in Tonj State complains that five hundred South Sudanese Pounds banknote is not a solution to the economic crisis in the country.
 
Deborah Nyantieth Achiek says the pound continues to lose its value against the dollar almost every day, Don Bosco Radio reports.
 
She explains that the five hundred banknote will be difficult to change if someone wants to buy something small.
 
The activist calls on the national government to stop printing the new note because poor families will be affected.
 
Deborah Yom Tong states that the new note will worsen the situation of orphans and widows all over the country.
 
Veronica Anger Akoc mentions that women are still marginalized since South Sudan got its independence because they are raped and killed.
 
She stresses that the government may think that five hundred banknote is solution to the problem, but it is not.
 
The Ministry of Finance in Tonj State was not in a position to comment on new Banknote.
