Lopit West County Commissioner in Torit State is calling on communities in the area to support education.
Albino Atari says it is the responsibility of communities to construct learning shelters for their children to attend classes, Emmanuel Radio reports.
Speaking in Lopit language, he advises the local population to ensure all children are sent to school.
The commissioner says the communities play a big role in supporting educational sector by not waiting only for the government to provide all assets of education.
Atari says an educated person will not only rely on gardening and looking after cattle, but always do productive things in different fields.
He believes a learned society is a society that accepts changes.
Commissioner Atari reveals that only Longiro Primary School out of twelve schools in the county has primary eight pupils.
