Wau State health officials are calling for urgent support to Wau Teaching Hospital with more facilities to avoid the deteriorating conditions.
The State Minister of Health, Doctor James Patrice urges health aid agencies working in South Sudan to assist the hospital with more facilities and safe more lives.
He notes that the hospital receives patients from the neighboring states and they cannot accommodate them due to lack of enough facilities.
The Minister explains that patients do not get immediate health services as needed due to lack of mobility and electricity.
He appeals to the UN aid agencies to intervene and rescue the situation.
‘Patients with special needs such as pregnant women or people with serious injuries would need a special attention due to their health conditions.’ Patrice explains.
The Minister also discloses that the hospital lacks drugs.
