East African Community Assembly deliberates in Kenya Monday

The East African Legislative Assembly or EALA resumes its sitting in Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday.
 
EALA statement says the fifth meeting of the first session of the parliament runs until June 15, 2018 in the Kenyan capital.
 
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address a special sitting at a later date, it adds.
 
The statement says other key highlights of the Assembly, to be presided over by Speaker Ngoga Karoli Martin, include the tabling of the EAC Budget for 2018/19 Financial Year.
 
The Assembly is expected to debate and enact three pieces of legislations and possible adoption of several reports.
 
The Bills include the EAC Community Supplementary Appropriation and the Administration of the EALA (Amendment) Bill, 2018.
 
The EAC Budget is expected to be delivered on June 4, 2018 by the Chair of the Council of Ministers.
 
Other activities include debate on the report of the committee on accounts on the EAC audited financial statements for 2016 and the report of the committee on general purpose on 2018/2019 budget.
