Torit Minister urges citizens to prioritize agriculture

Torit State Minister of Agriculture and Forestry urges citizens to put agriculture as their first priority to bring development in the area.
 
Clement Laku Chichim says focusing on agriculture helps reduce poverty in South Sudan.
 
“We the farmers of Torit state we have to take agriculture as the first priority because  why I says so worldwide the most the countries which are develop is out of agriculture you find they leave a lot of land for agriculture”
 
Laku stresses that people should make use of empty plots to plant crops to increase food production.
 
He advises farmers to plant cash crops to earn money to support their families.
 
“We have what we call cash crops which will bring you money cash you those who are seeking government works are the poor people you find most of the people who are producing   food these are rich people but many people go for agriculture because with agriculture you can get money for yourself and you get employment and you cannot run shortage of money from your hand”
 
Minister Laku made the remarks during the second day of Agriculture campaign at SPLM State Secretariat in Torit.
