South Sudan Catholic Dioceses have proposed that second Sunday of May will be the day to commemorate the Caritas Day annually.
Fr Moses Peter, Caritas Coordinator in the Diocese of Wau, says the day is main for fundraising to help those in needs, Voice of Hope Radio reports.
The priest encourages all faithful to mobilize enough funds for assisting the poor people in the country.
Caritas will only be able to avail basic needs to the needy if faithful contribute more, he adds.
Fr Peter appeals that second Sunday of May will be celebrated as Caritas Day.
All that Sunday collections will be sent to Caritas office and relocate to where there is need in dioceses, he adds.
