Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO is seeking to fight against issues of hate speeches through training journalists in Yei River State.
Daniel Friday Martin, CEPO’s Programme Manager in Yei, says the aim of the workshop was to impart skills to media practitioners to be able educate the public, Easter Radio reports
He believes empowering the media on how to battle against the increasing matters of hate speech will ease eradication of hate speeches in the state.
The Acting Director for Information in Yei River State, Denial Woli Comboni, says hate speeches have contributed greatly in the current conflicts in the country.
The director tells the participants to put to work the knowledge they have acquired.
Media practitioners attending the workshop consider it will help them advocate for the end of hate speeches spread through the social media.
