Saint Joseph’s Secondary School of the Catholic Diocese of El-Obeid in Nuba Mountains is not celebrating its patron’s feast due to economic hardships.

Principal Fred Drazu, says lack of money which is a crisis apparently all over the world forced them to postpone the celebration.

Drazu, explains that the event commemorates various achievements and sees the appointment of new student leaders.

He notes that although they did not celebrate in practice, they are observing the Day in their hearts.

The principal adds that many games and traditional dances of students from different tribes during the event will be missed including community members who join them every year for the occasion.

He calls on students and those who support the school to continue praying for the good of the school.

Saint Joseph’s Secondary School has four hundred and sixty students including two hundred and ten girls.

However the principal notes that some students have transferred to other schools.
