The press secretary in the office of President Salva Kiir says Dr Mawien’s medical qualification is questionable as he has lost credibility and medical ethics.
Ateny Wek Ateny, reacted to the statement of Dr Mawien early this week, says President Kiir is sick and is unfit to run the country.
He says the President is in his full and better health to manage the country.
Wek advises South Sudan’s medical council to take note of Mawien’s statement.
‘It is not about anything that the president does in his health is subject to discussion. Dr Mawien was talking on assumption because the president is a human being. Can you tell me if there is any other president in the whole World that has a medical records been discussed by anybody. Apart from that, he never had a chance to examine the president. So, where did he get the records?’
Wek adds that he was surprised with claims made by Dr Mawien about the health of the president which he has never examined him.
He stresses that Dr Mawien has never been a member of the presidency medical team, but he is only seeking attention.
‘Mawien has gone out completely of medical practices and the Medical Council needs to check this guy, whether his qualification is still detect or he has develop mentally inference, which is a concern for ordinary citizens who would be treated by Dr Mawien’.
The press secretary says President Kiir is healthy and carries out his daily routine office duty.
‘The President is healthy; we know we are working for him. But without any paltry, president comes to the office as early as eight o’clock in the morning. Sometimes if he has come late it will be nine o’clock or 9:15am and will be in the office beyond the normal hours that the head of state is expected to work’.
Wek accused Dr Mawien of being loyal to former chief of general staff, Paul Malong Awan.
