The Catholic bishop of Yei Diocese has called on the government and armed groups to work together in order to achieve lasting peace in the country.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe told CRN in an interview that the position of the church is to call on the worrying parties to stop violating the agreement
He urges the parties involved in the IGAD led High Level Revitalization forum to consider the challenges facing the citizens and come up with a quick solution to solve their disputes.
Bishop Lodu says the role of the Church is to ensure that stake holders comply with the terms provided at the HLRF to come up with a concrete resolution on ways forward to attain peace in this country.
Bishop Lodu spoke during a meeting between National Caritas and partners held in Juba on Monday.
In a press statement last week IGAD suspended the third phase of the High Level Revitalization Forum to be held between 17th-21st.of May, 2018
It said through these meetings, IGAD has identified that there still exist wide gaps between the different groups that need to be narrowed.
