IGAD postpones again third phase of peace talks to May 17

Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD announces postponement of the third Phase of the High Level Revitalization Forum for South Sudan to take place on May 17 instead of 2 of the same month.
 
In a statement on Thursday IGAD Council of Ministers says it adjourns the Forum after deliberation and assessing the position of the parties during their meeting.
 
It explains that the postponed is to allow continuation of diplomacy meetings with the parties to the conflict have a meaningful outcome of the mediation.
 
The group deliberated on the outcomes of the diplomacy meetings held with opposition groups, SPLM/A-IO, civil society groups and other stakeholders.
 
The meeting agreed to narrow wide gaps that still exist among different groups to achieve lasting peace.
 
It is the third time for IGAD to postpone the session number of the High Level Revitalization Forum for South Sudan.
