The listeners of Radio Don Bosco in Tonj State appeal to everybody to respect elderly people because they are source of wisdom.

Albino Akol, one of the consistent callers, says everyone is entitled to respect the elders.

He stresses the need to teach the young generation on how to respect old people.

Akol also urges children to respect their parents and the entire communities regardless of tribe.

Another caller who identifies himself as ‘Deng 4 good’ also calls on every citizen to honor elders the way they respect their parents at home.

He discourages any sort of discrimination against elders in any community.

Deng notes that it is a collective responsibility as parents to bring up children in a good manner.

He adds that it is the parents’ failure if their children disrespect elders.
