Religious leaders in Torit are calling on South Sudanese to feel affection for their country for peace to prevail.
 
Yousif Argentino Zachariah, a Muslim Imam, says if South Sudanese do not love their country peace will not be attained, Emmanuel Radio reports.
 
Have common understanding and have hope for peace in South Sudan, he urges citizens.
 
Argentino urges South Sudanese to stop killing one another, but rather work for peace to achieve development.
 
Bishop of African Inland Church Right Reverend Zachariah Eriga expresses worries about the future of South Sudan if war continues.
 
Accept change for lasting peace to realize in the country, he appeals to South Sudanese.
 
The Bishop urges state government not to politicize churches.
 
Meanwhile Monsignor Thomas Oliha Atiyah, Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Torit, appreciates the state governor for tireless efforts in bringing peace to the state.
 
He thanks the armed opposition forces for accepting to return home to join their families.
 
Monsignor Oliha says the security situation in Torit State is now normal compared to the past.
 
The officials were talking during a public rally at Torit Freedom Square earlier this week.
