Traders let by Chamber of Commerce in Tonj State gathered on Tuesday at SPLM Secretariat to welcome the newly appointed governor, Anthony Bol Madut.
According to Don Bosco Radio, the Chamber in collaboration with Municipal Council made the occasion colourful with different dances.
Acting Chairman for Chamber of Commerce says they are very happy to welcome the new governor to Tonj State and for winning the trust of President, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
He pledges to work hand in hands with governor to improve business activities in the state.
Governor Bol says promises to ensure that security is stable.
He appeals to the public to prioritize agriculture to fight hunger in the state.
The Governor adds that food commodities will not be taxed in order to avoid food shortage in the area.
Tonj Mayor Joseph Anei Madoor assures traders of good security in the town.
Security is the priority of the government and Municipality will make sure that security of the traders is in place, he notes.
Anei discloses that his office, ministry of Gender and Social Welfare will sit and discuss the issue of the street children in the town since they are disturbing the traders.
The officials made remarks on Tuesday in Tonj.
