The parish priest of St. Joseph in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has urged Christian believers to always be thankful to God.
Speaking to the congregation during the way of cross on Good Friday, Fr. Hilary Morbe says the faithful have been united with mind and heart to the suffering of Jesus with which his death means they die with him and rising with him to an unending life.
He encouraged Christians to pick up their cross and follow Jesus, adding that it is the interest of the holy father that the faithful take with them a spirit of thanks giving.
Sarah Nene Rodento, one of the members of the congregation appealed to leaders to listen to the cry of the people and bring about peace during the Easter period.
Another member, Aloro Joseph says because of the situation youths tend to forget about God in trying to look for ways of survival.
He encouraged youths to promote love to one another.
Thousands of Christians gathered to mark the procession of the way of cross in commemoration of crucifixion of Christ.
