South Sudan government has been asked to develop policies that protect and support the rights of older people in the Country.
Help age international programs manager Wani Eric Loku says overall assessment shows that there are no policies exist to support elderly in South Sudan.
Eric calls on the government to developed laws that cater for the right of the elderly in the Country.
Meanwhile, elderly have also called on the government to pay them for the services they have been doing to the country.
The Managing Director of the South Sudan Pension Funds, Keneth Lopoka, said they are unable to pay the pension because their efforts are being hindered by some ministries who are not responding to their plans.
He adds that they are working to ensure that the pensioners are paid.
Lopoka says the institution has to first register all government employees and access pension deductions.
