Dr John Garang Memorial Secondary School has beaten Torit Progressive Secondary three goals to two in a football friendly match.
Captain of Dr John Garang Memorial Secondary team, Dominic Otiyo German, is so happy for winning the game, encouraging his opponent not to lose hope.
He expects the competition to continue to improve people’s relationship.
‘Let my fellow colleagues {Torit Progressive Secondary school} take courage and they should not take it as a difficult thing because they did not win. During the football competition among schools organized last year, we played very well without any injury and quarreling in the field and that is how people are supposed to play football’.
Meanwhile, team representative for Torit Progressive Secondary, Jonathan Taban Luis says winning a competition is not the first priority but creating friendly and peaceful environment.
Luis says finding new students from different schools has made him happy.
‘I am very happy with today’s match despite losing the game. I think next time, we shall improve to win. Everything was fine during the match. The referee did his level best so it was actually very good’.
Principal of Torit Progressive Secondary, Thomas Lodoviko Loryem says sports promote peaceful co-existence among people.
‘The two teams interacted well with each other after playing the football. Sports is very good unifying factor, especially for South Sudanese if we invest in and the peace that we are crying for, will be achieved’.
Lodoviko also promises to organize football tournament for girls. But he did not mention when it will commence.
