The government of Maridi postponed the celebration of international women’s day in the state.
The delay is due to some logistical constrain and more preparations to make the day to look more colourful says, Maridi State Assembly member, Radio Anisa reports.
Jean Pia Michael says they have been so far raising awareness on the importance of the day, but the celebration is pushed to March 20.
She describes the day as important for jubilation and recognizing the right of every woman globally.
The MP say recognising women’s day does not mean women should turn on top of men, but respect and pray their role effectively.
She calls government and world at large to respect the right of every woman.
The postponement of the day does not show any contradiction in the state.
