The National Ministry of General Education in collaboration with World Food Program or WFP will increase the number of students benefiting from the school feeding program this year, says Minister.

Deng Deng Hoc Yai says more than three hundred and fifty thousand children benefited from the program last year and that they will continue to support and increase the number, Bakhita Radio reports.

He says the program is to ensure that all students or pupils in food insecure areas are given food to focus on their learning.

The Minister was speaking during the celebration of the Africa Day of school feeding in Juba on Thursday.

Layer Angelo, students’ representative expresses happiness for the feeding program.

She says the support keeps them at school, gives energy to do their activities and makes them vigilant to teachers.

Jesse Wood from WFP says the program supports over 16.4 million children globally.
