The newly appointed Governor of Yei River State has on Wednesday assumed his new office.
Emmanuel Adil Anthony was the former government Chief whip in the state transitional assembly replacing David Lokonga Moses, Easter Radio reports.
During the inaugural ceremony, Governor Adil vows to restore peace and tranquility.
He expresses willingness to respect the cessation of hostilities agreement to allow people move freely without fear.
Adil promises to restore Yei River State back to what he describes as ‘a food basket’ in South Sudan through agriculture.
The new Governor was accompanied by Jubek and Terekeka State government officials, national minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr Martine Elia Lomuro and Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, Presidential Advisor on Economic Affairs.
