The Director-General in the Ministry of Gender and Social Welfare in Wau State is criticizing the community on the so called voluntary rape, after boy’s family failed to pay girl’s family.

Ann Daniel Ali says there is nothing called voluntary rape and the community should differentiate between the two cases, Voice of Hope Radio reports.

She reveals that the department of gender has been receiving many rape cases and that after sometimes some cases were not real, but agreed sex.

Daniel called on girls to tell the truth of what happened to them to their families and not to hide anything.

She explains that a rape case is having sex against the will of the other partner but not voluntarily.

‘We will no longer accept any case of sex occurred as a result of an agreement’, the Director- General emphasizes.

The gender official urges community to use the hotline phone provided for reporting rape cases.

She admits that many young girls have been exploited by elders across the state.
