Practice Christian values to attain peace, Bishops urges South Sudanese

Catholic Bishop of Yei calls on all South Sudanese to practice Christian values in order to attain true and genuine peace in the country.
 
Speaking to hundreds of Christians on Friday at St Theresa’s Cathedral in Juba, Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe says Christianity is a commitment to suffer for others.
 
He warns people against using their Christianity as a social or political prestige.
 
Majority of South Sudanese are baptized and hold Christian names, but of recent some people begun to hide their names in order to be engaged in evil things, the Catholic prelate points out.
 
Bishop Lodu calls on Christians to be proud of their names given to them by the Church.
 
He encourages South Sudanese to practice values that promote unity and peace among communities in the country.
 
Bishop Lodu was speaking to Christians on Friday during the prayer for peace in South Sudan and DR Congo, called for by Pope Francis.
