CEPO extends Community Security Project to Eastern Lakes State

Community Empowerment for Progress Organization CEPO in partnership with Safer World has on Thursday extended the service of community security project to Yirol West of Eastern Lakes state.
 
The project which was attended by over eighty youth in Aluakluak County aims at empowering communities on security, peace building and sustainability in Lakes states. Good News Radio reports.
 
CEPO Coordinator Isaac Majier Majok urges communities to work together for peaceful coexistence among the communities of South Sudan.
 
‘let us works together in reporting criminals that are disturbing community peace to the authorities,’ he said.
 
Aluakluak Payam administrator Makuei Majur, welcomes the project that will help communities in related insecurity issues and peace building into Lakes state.
 
He encourages Gelweng Youth to work together in order to implement the project correctly by reporting criminals that are involve in cattle raiding along the borders.
 
Majur calls upon communities living across the borders of Western and Eastern Lakes states to work together for peaceful coexistence.
 
Williams Mapuor Marial, Safer World Lakes area project coordinator says the committee was formed to project community work plans to address roots causes of the conflict in the area.
 
The extension of the project has begun with formation of 32 youth peace committee that will be working for community security.
