South Sudan’s Catholic Bishops in their meeting in Juba for the last three days have called on South Sudan’s leaders to covert and have their heart changed so that peace can prevail in the country.
Speaking to CRN at the side line of their meeting, Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe appealed to both the government and the oppositions to pray and listen to the God’s voice and convert for the sake of peace in the country.
He believes change of heart is a personal decision.
Bishop Lodu appreciated the prayer’s initiative called for by Pope Francis which shows his solidarity with the suffering of people of South Sudan and the DRC.
Rocco Taban Musa, the apostolic administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Malakal, says South Sudanese are hopeful for the next round of the peace forum that peace and stability will be granted to them by leaders.
He called on conflicted parties to change their hearts and listen to the voice of God so that they are able to compromise and bring peace to the country.
The bishops have called on all to join them in a prayer for peace in South Sudan this evening at St. Theresa Cathedral Church in Kator, Juba.
