A top government official of Kpaile County in Wau state says at least three people have been killed by unknown armed men near the Bussere river site on Tuesday evening.
George Wejuok Peter, Kpaile County Commissioner, confirmed to Voice of Hope in Wau on Wednesday that the attackers shot three fisher men and two of them died at spot but the third person later died in Wau teaching hospital.
Commissioner, Wejuok added that the SPLA forces in the area is offering a protection to the civilians in the area while observing the Cessation of Hostilities agreement signed in December last year.
Wejuok accuses the SPLA –IO loyal to former first vice president Riek Machar for attacking civilians and killing them.
He advised civilians to avoid accessing areas that are not secure and inform the security organs in case they wanted to go.
SPLA-IO around the area was not immediately available to comment on this allegation.
