Wau state governor, Angelo Taban Biajo is calling on citizens to cooperate with authorities in the area and surrender their guns and live in peace.
Addressing the weekly peace and security briefings at Peace Hall in Wau on Monday, governor Taban says the government is determine to collect all fire arms from the hands of civilians so as to ensure all civilians are safe. Voice of Hope Radio reports
Taban calls on farmers and cattle keepers’ communities to accept voluntarily and hand over their fire arms to give chance for the government to offer them security.
Governor Taban instructed all the government officials to respect the civilians. He adds that he will no longer allow any fire arms to be taken to the market including the bodyguards of the constitutional post holder.
Wau state government has collected more than one thousand pieces of fire arms in Marial Bai County late last year.
